God's laws are still in effect today ; Most of the statutes and all of the blood ordinances are done away, but not God's laws (there are more than the ten commandments ; Lev. 18,19,20 ; Deut. ).
Some Christians think they don't have to abide by God's laws because they are saved. This is not true, and very dangerous. Why ? because we are not perfect, and as long as we are in this flesh body we will sin. However, the beauty about Christianity is, we can be forgiven if we repent (you can't con God). Repentance is not only asking God for forgiveness, but also a change of heart.
LET'S GO TO THE WORD
Matthew 5:17 Think not (Christ speaking) that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets : I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
HE CAME NOT TO DESTROY THE LAW BUT TO FULFIL IT BY BECOMING THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB.
IN THE TIME BEFORE CHRIST THE PRIESTS HAD TO SPRINKLE SACRIFICIAL BLOOD OVER THE PEOPLE FOR ATONEMENT.
CHRIST SACRIFICED HIMSELF AND WITH HIS BLOOD WE ARE SAVED ; NO MORE SACRIFICES.
5:18 For I verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot (iota in the Greek) or one tittle (a small mark placed over a word for any purpose : to make an abbreviation) shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
IN OTHER WORDS, NOT EVEN A COMMA OR A MARK WILL BE TAKEN AWAY FROM THE LAW.
5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven : but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
THE ONES THAT TEACH THE LAW IS DONE AWAY HAVE TO ASWER TO GOD.
WHAT IS A SIN ? A SIN TO BREAK ONE OR MORE OF GOD'S LAWS.
DO NOT FOLLOW MEN'S DOCTRINES AND TRADITIONS.
STUDY FOR YOURSELF, AND IF YOU HAVE A HARD TIME UNDERSTANDING, ASK GOD TO HELP YOU DISCERN A TRUE TEACHER FROM A FAKE.
