IDOLATRY
People like to worship images instead of the living God. They trust biblical illiterate and power driven pastors, priests, ministers, instead of God and His word.
All these so-called religious leaders have driven people out of the true God and into Satan's bed spiritually. They will be disciplined at the end...judgment starts from the pulpit.
II Kings 23:4 And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven : and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Beth-el (in Samaria where the 10 tribes were).
THE GROVE = ASERATH (MASCULINE IMAGE THEY WORSHIPPED). ISHTAR WAS THE FEMININE FERTILITY GODDESS IMAGE THAT IS ALSO WORSHIPPED TODAY.
THE HOST OF HEAVEN = ANGEL WORSHIP.
23:5 And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places round about Jerusalem : them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.
THE SUN = WORSHIPPING OF THE SUN
THE MOON AND PLANETS = ASTROLOGY
Another dangerous form of idolatry is using of "Mediums", or "Psychics".
The majority of these individuals are fakes...the ones that can actually tell you in detail about a loved one who has passed on is not of accident. They are surrounded by so-called "spiritual guides". These so-called "spiritual guides" are demons. They are supernatural, and therefore know everything about you. They can take any form and they will deceive you by looking and acting like your loved one. Only God has the power to sent a loved one back to comfort you (He has many times), and He does not need anyone's help to do so.
There is also not such a thing about a soul being lost and needs to be guided to the other side. God does not operate this way : "To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord ".
(II Cor. 5:8).
King Saul was a good king at first, but he went away from God. He wouldn't answer his prayers and when his beloved mentor (Samuel) died he went to a medium to contact him.
The medium asked Saul "whom shall I bring back unto thee ?" And he said, "Bring me up Samuel." (I Samuel 28:11).
Unfortunately, the one whom the medium brought back was not Samuel, but an evil spirit that took the form of Samuel.
The evil spirit told Samuel that, because he forsook the Lord, he was stripped of his kingdom, and that he was going to be slaughtered by the Philistines.
The medium was called "the witch of Endor" (I Samuel 28).
Another form of idolatry is worldly lusts.
Anything you put above God is a form of idolatry...it can be your house, your car, your work, material things, power and pride.
II Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
COVETOUS = LOVERS OF MONEY.
BOASTERS = ALAZON IN THE GREEK = CHANGING GOD'S WORD.
3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good (they hate the ones who love God and try to do what is right),
3:4 Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God ;
3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof : from such turn away.
THEY SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF LOVE BUT THEY DENY GOD. THEY ARE FAKES.
GOD IS TELLING YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM ALL THESE INDIVIDUALS.
We are at the end times and idolatry is at the highest. However, God warns us throughout His word. Satan is the god of this world and many people love his ways more than God's. However, this is only temporarily. God is still in control and He will bring things back to order upon His return.
